Nevermind, I fixed ^it. :)

Not the other thing though. :(

Is the DVD drive seperate that CD drive? Did it work before? Did you finish all your homework?

Here's the thing, I don't use it that often. Last time I used it was prolly sometime in late '04. So I'm not sure when exactly it stopped working properly. One thing I should mention (but I doubt it's the problem) is that when I played the last DVDs, I had a different version of WMP. Recently I updated to the latest version (9, I think). I tried playing the DVD with Quicktime, same problem.

Did I stump Ravi? :(
I thought you'll figure it out eventually :P

You must've done all the usual sound settings check right?

If you play any video file from that drive does it have sound?
Is the sound cord correcly plugged to the sound card / motherboard?

I.. don't know. It should be. It worked before when I played DVDs. How do I check?

There's this CD of video files I that I burned a while back, and when I play it in the E drive, the sound works.

Do one last check: Plug a headphone into the DRIVE's jack, and play a DVD. If you have sound there, then the sound cable is the problem.

Open the PC and check behind the drive. The sound cable is the thinnest of them all, it should plug to your sound card, or if you have an integrated sound card, (more likely, from the pic you posted) it should go to the motherboard.

I don't have a jack for headphones. Or did you mean the blue hole from the photo I posted?

Also, try VLC Media Player, and see if it can play your DVD correctly.
Nope. :(

If you guys don't see me, that's because Leoney locked me in a cage in her lab! :woo:
