Ask Ravi

Ravi,
I cannot get my XP icons transparent. I had a deal called SpySheriff on my computer, and the in depth removal guide had me go in to regedit, and delete some keys under a branch called "Active Desktop," and I believe that may be the cause.

Any solution?

Never mind; I fixed it.

I have another problem. Like I said, I had a thing called SpySheriff on my computer, which is in fact the opposite of a spyware removal program, and it's been giving me hell.

Yesterday, I thought I removed it completely. I used Ad-Aware, and followed instructions online.

I still, however, have an icon in my system tray called Windows Security Alert, and it tells me I have spyware. I got rid of all of it!!!

Help.

Andy, Microsoft has and anti-spyware removal tool for free. Did you try that? It removed everything for me.

Any ideas on what I can use to upload a video/audio clip? Is there any practical method? The clip is on a VHS tape. I'm after the music so it doesn't really matter if I can get video portion.

Stoopid Olympics and its good music. <_<

I have no idea on your end, but if you can't find a way to do it just send it to me and I can upload it. :)

Ravi,

How many times will I prove my weight in gold? And how many times over? Will I ever get this gold? :o

Use a RCA cable to connect the Audio Line-Out from the VCR to the Line-In on the back of your computer. You can use the Sound Recorder on the computer to record the audio.

Or you can send it to Melissa. :)

Is that the same cable you hook up to your VCR if you're taping from tape to tape?

I know nothing! :leela:

Yes, cable that look this:

Usually, the line-in of your computer's sound card is like a headphone jack. So you'll need a converter like this:

You can get this at a Radio Shack or even WalMart for a couple of bucks.

So you plug the cable to the Audio Left and Right ( Red and White ) jacks on the VCR, connect the other end to the converter, and plug the converter to the back of the computer.

I looked in the back and the only place it looks like it'll fit into is the mic space. Is that right?
