What the hell? I keep hearing about myspace accounts getting hacked into and being sold on ebay. My question is who is buying these? Cause it's free to set up an account. I just don't get it.

Are you serious. I mean, I don't have my own account but, this just sounds rediculous.

MySpace is a huge operation geared at collecting demographic information on people. Especially 14-35 age crowd. Fox paid half a billion for them... I'll bet this eBay thing is engineered by them, to make eveybody believe that's how hot and hip they are.

News Corp paid 586 million for the site. That's public knowledge. Rest are rumors, but the top people at mySpace are very secretive. Nobody seems to know anything about them. Fox has been extremely successfull in their ad delivery to mySpace community, because they have such deep database on the personal preferences of the members. That's why they paid so much money.

The founders are reluctant to go public, because their past involves lot of shady operations involving spyware etc. Plus they never even hints at what makes them the most popular site in just 2 years. It's all looks ->

That splains how Ad-Aware manages to find 50 new items every damn day.

Cookies.
Yes, cookies.

I scanned my moms comp and she had 76 instances of spyware and/or adware, that is without cookies being counted. <_<
