THank you VERY much. I knew I had heard it from somewhere, I will have to break out my "And We Were Soldiers" DVD. It was really a fitting piece of music for a great president.

SirBax, I had been wondering what that song was too. It was so touching when it was played during the service. It's a beautiful song. I'm so glad I know what it is now.

Thanks!

Thanks Amie,

I just read about the piece of music you were searching for. I am sorry for your loss. I had never heard of that artist before and believe it or not, I don't even remember that commercial. But, it is a very haunting and beautiful piece of music.

Did you are anyone else for that matter get to see that interment service that was held in California? What did you think?

SirBax, Thanks for the kind words. :)
I am a HUGE music lover and love the emotion songs can stir in people. For instance, the song we now know to be, "The Mansions of the Lord" touched me deeply while watching President Reagan's service. It was a mix of the haunting drums and the image of what was taking place that just brought tears to my eyes. THAT was a powerful moment. Like something from a movie.

I've been watching all week and I feel for Nancy Reagan. I've suffered two major losses in the last year and my heart just goes out to people who are grieving.
I did see the service in California and it REALLY got to me. It's one thing to hear other people give speeches but when you hear what the kids had to say, I thought it was really sweet.
Could you really ask for a better setting? It was so beautiful with the hills and the sunset. Then the thing that grabbed my heart the most were Nancy's final moments at the casket. She truly loved him and it just showed in that moment as well as every time she patted and caressed the flag over these days.

Well, I didn't mean to get all emotional here. I think everything was a really fitting tribute to a really decent man.

SirBax, it seems like we like similar music so another song you might like is the original score for the movie "25th Hour." Have you heard it?

I have not heard of that one, but I will have to look it up. Thanks for the tip!!
