Random Dump Zone, part.. what? Kajillion?

i just checked where my car is usually parked (it's still at the parking lot in front of my work) and there was no sign of a leak.
of course that may still not mean much.

Well that's unfortunate. Not much I can tell from here. My best gues would be the coil or the fuel pump but those are just two possibilities out of many.

Do you have a friend that can help a bit? They don't have to know anything.

not right now, he won't be back until this weekend.
his job takes him out of town a lot.
the autozone guy told me that the motor to my car is very simple and that it only takes three things to get it running, a spark, gas and air.
he told me about a coil that 's suppose to connect to my distributor cap?
he also mentions something called a control module, but i really hope that it's not that since that thing costs about 99.99 and the coil only costs 24.99.
thanks for your help anyway, i really appreciate it.

Ok are all the plug wires and the coil wire where they're supposed to be? All plugged in? The coil wire is the one in the middle and it goes to the coil which is about the size of a small can of V8 juice. Make sure that the coil wire is solidly attached to the center post of the distributor cap and to the little cone on top of the coil.

If those are fine you can see if it's getting any gas by removing the air cleaner housing. It's the flying saucer looking thing on the very top of your engine with usually one wing nut holding it down but on yours it might be two or three bolts or screws. Remove that and pay attention to any little hoses that come loose so you can plug them back in when you put the air cleaner back. Under the air cleaner is your carbuerator. If you had a friend to pump the gas peddle you could hear, smell and even see if their is gas squirting into it with each pump. Since you don't it can be accomplished from under the hood by manually working the linkage. It should be on the side of the carbuerator with a cable or rod going back to the firewall where it would attach to you gas peddle. Work it forward and backward the way it would move if you were pumping the gas peddle and see if any gas is going in the carbuerator.

If these two things are fine then it probably is the coil or control module.

cool, i'll check it tonight when we go and try to tow my car back home.
by then, my brothers should be home and they will help me (i called them and they said they would)
i had checked the wires yesterday to see if everything was connected correctly and it was, but i didn't think to check the distributor cap (then again, i didn't even know what that thing did until you just told me).

oh, i forgot to tell you this, my brother-in law had gone by my work early this morning and tried to start it while i was at work.
he removed the spark plug wire to see if there was a spark and there wasn't.
sorry, but my brother just informed of this as i was typing the last post.

disregard this post, i meant to type it somewhere else.
sorry for the trouble.

Can anyone find The Perfects- Crystal Ball to borrow?
Is this a cover of Keane's "Crystal Ball" by any chance?
