Does the Palace Hotel Ballroom really exist?

During the intro of the song, "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" by the Blues Brothers, Elwood welcomes everyone to the Palace Hotel Ballroom. Does anyone know if such a place really exists?

Not in Chicago that I've ever heard of. There is a niiiiiice one in Frisco.

I found out from a Blues Brothers Fansite forum that in this sequence of the film, the exterior of the ballroom is the South Shore Cultural Center in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago and the interior is the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, CA. So, the "Palace Hotel Ballroom" itself only exists in Hollywood mythology. Some interesting "movie magic" I guess.
