2010 Winter Olympics Vancouver

Olympic Commercial Song?

I am trying to find the title of a song that was used in a commercial for the 2010 Winter Olympics and the instrumental version of the song was used in a piece Bob Costas did tonight on Bode Miller. I believe I have also heard it in a Greys Anatomy episode. It's a very pretty, slow song.

It is a woman singing:

"I, am waiting.... "

I know its not a lot of information but if anyone has any information regarding that I would appreciate it!

Thanks

I am looking for the artist or composer of "Sadness". Bozarova/Larionov used it for their short program. I appreciate the playlist but you would think they'd have the smarts to list the artist! Also, does anyone know the artist that did the instrumental version of "Send In The Clowns"? Thanks in advance!

I think I've made some headway with my first question. I looked up previous performances of the Sadness routine on Youtube.

I found this one

which according to one of the comments (had to use freetranslation.com) Sadness is from a Russian tv show called сатисфакция " Satisfaction". The composer is Игорь Каменский ( Igor Kamensky).

So does anyone know where to find this music for purchase?

I found the music from the Sadness program! The track is called "Грусть". It's from this soundtrack

The only sound samples I found were on a Russian mp3 site, and I don't think that's allowed here. But it is the right music!

Can someone please help me with the name of this track? It is so familiar, it's killing me. It was used during a montage Friday night in Primetime. Sample Here

Can anyone tell me what NBC was using in their montage of Lindsey Vonn in week one shortly after she fell, it was instrumental and subtle and repetative and I thought I recognized it from somewhere unfortunately I can't seem to dig up the video -- anyone know what I am talking about? It wasn't the Pirates of the Carribean one which I could easily recognize.

Still looking for help on the first song of the three (or four) used in the "Canada Welcomes The World" montage aired when the Olympics opened.

Video is here. My email to NBCOlympics.com has, as you'd expect, thus far gone unanswered.

That, and the song used in that CTV opening essay mentioned earlier in this thread, with the sample uploaded here.

The "Brokaw on Canada/US Bond" video finally appeared on NBC's site, BUT the music is completely different than the one that aired!! The selections by Thomas Newman, Brian Tyler, and Kerrey Muzzey have all been stripped out and replaced by what sounds like standard library music fare. I'm guessing that there was a rights issue which prevented the inclusion of the original music in the on-line version.

For those interested, here's the link to the video:

Anybody happen to catch the "recap" segement they did earlier today? It was a 5 min recap of the whole thing so far and there was a song I'd be interested in finding. It was when the woman canadian skater who lost her mother shortly before the games and won bronze. When they were talking about her the background music was a version of "hallelujah" but played on an acoustic guitar. I have looked around but was unable to find who did it. Its much slower than any of the acoustic versions I have found.

Just found this site -- great stuff. Sunday night, I know NBC used a snippet of piano from Thomas Newman's score for "Road to Perdition." Recognized a little of Hans Zimmer's fanfare from "Backdraft" few days back.

I assume that you have browsed the album "Sounds of Vancouver 2010:Opening Ceremony Commemorative." But in case you haven't, I wanted to mention it. You can find it on Itunes.

Yeah, there's a few nice bits on that, but montage music generally doesn't make it to commercial CDs (except for the stuff taken from movie scores).

Gotta add another unknown.

Running between ~11:14-11:17p CST, NBC aired a montage covering what's to come during London 2012; I recognized the music playing, I know I've heard it several times, but I can't place it.

If anyone just caught that, I'm all ears.

AND: during the end credits of the coverage, there's that commonly-used string theme that aired during the landscape montage... if anyone recognized that, or the piece or two that preceded it in the same montage, I'm all ears. Same for the music that played through the very end of the credits scene.

There were 2 songs in the closing credits... the first half I recognized from somewhere but can't place it. The second half was from the "remember the titans" soundtrack.

I was gonna come here and ask about the 2012 preview song.... I know Ive heard it before.

Still missing the first one, but the second one -- right you are, thank you. Trevor Rabin, "Titans Spirit", pretty much 3:15 onwards.

Never did see the movie, sadly...

NBC video - Best of the Games: Emotions

Sorry for yet another song identification request...but I have spent the better part of the day trying to find the song and artist that sings in this video clip. It sounds very much like Miriam Stockley of Adiemus fame...but I can't see/hear where she's done anything like it????

The song appears two times in the clip, first is between 1:10 - 1:42, the second is at 3:40 till the end. Can anyone help?

Thank you! The themes used in that montage are scattered through "Finale" from that score.

Figures that it'd be one of the guys who worked on the score for The Last of the Mohicans.

As far as the "Canada Welcomes the World" montage, all we have is the second song in. I'm still trying to find the first one... or, hell, any of the rest of it. Impressive stuff.

For some reason i want to say the song from the London Montage is from Carter Burwell's score for the New York Life commercials but im not exactly sure i need to see/hear the montage again...

Im hoping NBC will post the closing ceremonies online (esp with the back-lash about them cutting it in half)
