Maybe you should use a php mail form instead of posting your email adress. Now any bot can get that email and add it to their spam list...

Very true :)

What I did instead is use javascript variable to combine different parts of my address when the person clicks on the link, and the display of it is coded in html numbers and also seperate by a span tag (which i think might throw them off also, i'm not sure)

Some web developer guy from the internets says it's what he recommends but I kind of made my own version of it. We'll see how it works.. If I start getting spam I'll use a different address and do the form thing but I think it should block it out.

Well the real problem is that your mail adress can just be read, so any spambot that finds its way on your site will search for anything with an @ in it and add it to its list...

At the least I would recommend changing the name of the mail link to 'Mail me' or something.

this is how i coded the display:

<span> & # 1 0 5 ; & # 1 1 0 ; & # 1 0 2 ; & # 1 1 1 ; & # 6 4 ; </span> & # 9 7 ; & # 1 1 0 ; & # 1 1 6 ; & # 1 0 4 ; & # 1 1 1 ;& # 1 1 0 ;& #1 2 1 ; & # 10 5 ; & # 1 1 8 ; & # 1 0 1 ; &# 1 1 4 ; & #1 1 5 ; & # 11 1 ;& # 1 10 ; & #4 6 ; &# 9 9 ; &# 1 1 1 ; & #1 0 9 ;
(numbers are spaced so they don't turn into letters)

what i think they would see is:

<span>info@</span>anthonyiverson.com

some bots can translate the html numbers into letters, but i wouldn't think they'd know how to handle tags in the middle of the address. they'd have to be an actual browser to figure that one out, at least i would think so.
