Sorry about your sister, Rhonda, but that is just another symptom of the overall problem, which is, lack of competition. There are only a few Insurance companies, and thery work like a cartel. Insurance companies can charge you higher the same reason why cable companies charge you a high rate.. You just don't get a choice of companies...

The usual response from the conservative/republican camp is, let's put a cap on how high the awarded judgement can go. That seems like a logical solution, but think, it's empowering the powerful, and taking power from the weak. That has to be viewed with suspicion, always! h34r:

If there weren't so many lawsuites thought then it wouldn't cost so much for doctor's to deliver bebe's.

Right, but what I'm saying is that there are way too many unjustified lawsuits. Malpractice does happen, yes, but it's not like every bad thing that happens is because of malpractice but even when the doctor and their staff does everything correctly, bad things still happen unfortunately. I guess I'm just speaking of the people that sue because they want to blame someone not because someone was actually at fault.

Word, many people these day don't take responsiblity for anything and spread the blame.
