If everything is too big... I think it's your resolution?

-Right-click on your desktop and choose properties
-Then choose the farthest-right tab.
-There should be a slider there that sets your resolution.
-Slide the slider to the right up to about 1024/768 or something (the higher the numbers, the smaller things are gonna look)
