hip hop song mix

i heard this song on a local (mainstream) RnB n Hip Hop radio station awhile back....prolly around Jan '07 - June '07....but who really knows?

anyway the song sounded reminiscent of Common's "Come Close" song. the background was very original and that's pretty much all i got.

the only lyrics i caught (or the only lyrics actually SUNG) were:

"Bonita Apadon(?)
You gotta put me on."

again, the song is a hiphop/rap guy n the song was bein mixed on the radio.

any clues? :blink:

*i think the radio station dj said somethin about the artist Q-Tip after the song.....or actually during the song cuz it was mixed....just to throw that out there*

A Tribe Called Quest-Bonita Applebum is the original song.

The dj on that radio station might have taken a Common track and mixed it with A Tribe Called Quest's, but that is the song.
