GE Ecomagination "Today"

Hi,

I was wondering if someone knew the song/tune for the GE Ecomagination commercial. It is available at the General Electric Web site, http://ge.ecomagination.com/news-media/advertising-and-images.html#online-advertising under "Online Advertising." It is the first video "Ecomagination — Today."

I will appreciate your help.

BTW, I am a first-time poster, but a long-time reader. I really like this Web site.

I emailed General Electric and they told me the song is called "Better Days" by The Goo Goo Dolls.

Ugh they told me the wrong song. There's another ad called "Today".

First time poster here too - I registered just to answer this question, because it was bugging me too. Comments on the commercial on YouTube:

led me to "Perpetuum Mobile" by Penguin Cafe Orchestra:

and that sure sounds like it's right, although the GE commercial seems to be using a marimba or something in place of the piano. I really dig the song, though - it's all happy on top, and then the deep strings come in and twist your heart - and I'm glad to put a name to it.

Thanks both to nuggstein and srg1487. I really appreciate both your research. It does sound like "Perpetuum Mobile," but I think the GE version with the marimba sounds better (the original version is great also).

Nuggstein, have you, by any change, e-mailed GE about the "Today" commercial? If you have, could you please let us know if they confirm srg1487's answer?

@Complex3, the production house that produced this is called Beta Petrol and they are based in San Francisco. On their website you can find the reel of GE as well. I was hopeful to find the credits, but this is their only reel where they did not set the credit details:-( All other songs on their site state credentials! However, I will contact them and see how far I will get..
