Trying to figure out the song from the latest Excel chewing gum commercial . . . now that I'm in here, I can't remember the words, but it goes from one person to another to another singing what seems like a really old song, maybe Depeche Mode? not sure . . . . HELP!!

Was this commercial shown in Canada? (I'm assuming Excel gum is a Canadian brand by Wrigley.)

Yep, the spot's Canadian.

Your song is "Don't Leave Me This Way", originally done by Thelma Houston (I believe) during the disco era.

I just had this commercial at work today...thank goodness my company monitors some Canadian markets!

Does anyone know who makes the version of the song used in the commercial?

Don't leave me this way
I can't survive, I can't stay alive
Without you love, oh baby
Don't leave me this way
I can't exist, I will surely miss
Your tender kiss
So don't leave me this way

^lyrics in the commercial....any ideas who sang it though?

So far people who have covered this song are:

Tina Turner
Jimmy Somerville
Thelma Houston

Hope this helps!
