It's aggravating when this (see thread title) happens...

Elliot Goldenthal did soundtrack (along with other artists performing more conventional tunes) incidental music for the 1994 (or '95) movie "Heat" (starring Kilmer, Pacino, DeNiro).
Bought the soundtrack CD but the song I wanted was NOT on it. Have hunted online for more info. but haven't turned up anything useful. Know the song existed as of 1990, because I taped it off college radio station back then (and the dj didn't identify artist or title). Always wondered what it was, and hearing it in this movie got my hopes up that I'd find out.
There's scene towards end, where Amy Brenneman & Robert DeNiro are fighting. It's night/dark, they're in kitchen & then go outside through sliding door to reconcile. The music is vexing to describe because it's instrumental, subtle, and quiet. It's spooky electronic mellow yet with building tension, just don't know how to explain. Hope someone's seen the movie & noticed the music to which this refers.
