Would it be diamonds, forever-and-a-day
Ice on fire that ne-ver melts a-way
That’s the kind of taste
That shows, it’s a beautiful hour ....
Belvedere
This expensive (but tasty) Polish Zodka is intended to be served
chilled to people who want to seem above the rabble, but not so
far above that they don't appreciate dressing up their crossbred
dog in front of Dr Zhivago's mansion, all the while reveling in forbidden
romance ... note that overdressed lovelies are paired off in both mixes of
gender and race, and they are meant to be 25-30 yrs of age, just old enough
to afford (or worry about their image to bother to buy) a $30 bottle
of vodka with a fruit twist. Its far too much money to spend on a vodka
used for mixed drinks. You really only drink it chilled very cold, and/or
on the rocks ....
I too would love to know who wrote this ... it very likely was written by a
struggling songwriter expressly for Belevedere Vodka. In years past all commercials had their own jingles. Only recently has everyone "had" to
license a shortened or euphemised version of hit songs. You'd be surprised
the number of famous people who got their start writing commercial jingles.
The jingle is very straightforward ... so expensive you're drinking diamonds,
chilled with a kick, and you'll sleep with just about everything after a glass
or two at 2 am
....
I'd also like to know who envisioned the commercial ... it's the first time I've
really been impressed with the seamless transitioning of "Matrix" multi-camera
filming. I'd like to see a convex version of this normally concave camera array
to show a person's perspective on a battleground (for my movie script) ...
(I too was searching for the lyrics, and simply gave up and added them to this bulletin board
)
