trying to identify the background music here:

it starts at about 35 seconds in to about 1 minute in. the same song is later heard softly from around 8:12 to 8:27.

I think it is from a TV commercial or soundtrack.

found it. it's Black and White X 5 by Bill Conti (The Thomas Crown Affair).

The application Shazam identified it in no time.
