I have heard this song a couple of times but dont know the name. It sounds like a British group....starts with Organ then piano....lyrics

If I could open my arms and span the length of the isle of Manhattan I'd bring it to where you are..

If I could open my mouth....

it contines with that theme throughout.....If could open....

I have tried random guesses but dont seem to find anything on this. I want to get this on Itunes but have not idea who it is?

Death Cab For Cutie - Marching Bands Of Manhattan

That's what I got when I typed 'isle of manhattan lyrics' into Google.

If I Could Open My Arms
And Span The Length Of The Isle Of Manhattan
I'd Bring It To Where You Are
Making A Lake Of The East River And Hudson
If I Could Open My Mouth
Wide Enough For A Marching Band To March Out
They Would Make Your Name Sing
And Bend Through Alleys And Bounce Off all the Buildings

I Wish We Could Open Our Eyes
To See In All Directions At The Same Time
Oh, What A Beautiful View
If You Were Never Aware Of What Was Around You
And It Is True What You Say
That I Live Like A Hermit In My Own Head
But When The Sun Shines Again
I'll Pull The Curtains And Blinds To Let The Light In

Sorrow Drips Into Your Heart
Through A Pinhole
Just Like A Faucet That Leaks
And There Is Comfort In The Sound X4
But While You Debate
Half Empty Or Half Full
It Slowly Rises Your Love Is Gonna Drown

Your Love Is Gonna Drown (x4)
Your Love Is Gonna

Mahalo and thank you! I can go get this cd now. I feel a little stupid cause I never realized that I could do that with Google...learn something new every day! In any case, thanks cause I clearly never would have gotten that title reviewing the lyrics....seems to far removed. I have heard of the band but never really listened to them...definitely will do so now. At 40+ I still find lots of good music out there but mostly thru the stuff listed on this board as I live in Hawaii and our radio sucks. Again thanks for the help.

You're very welcome. :)

I was lucky with google this time. When I'm looking for a song based on lyrics I remember, I do turn to google to search first but (maybe it's just me) it's only successful 10% of the time. Then I turn to this forum. ;)
