A Grandpa for Christmas

First off, thanks to everybody for the tips on my two Ugly Betty posts. I appreciate your help. Now I'm trying to figure out if a couple of the songs from the Hallmark movie "A Grandpa for Christmas" are real songs or were written for the movie. One is supposed to be from "Manhattan Lights" (don't know if that's a real show) and starts out, "They say why try, no way this can have a happy ending, they say turn back, walk away while you can." The other one is a Christmas song that says "that's why i gotta sing a Christmas song." I'd really be grateful for any help, especially with the first song.
