The new St. Joseph's Aspirin commercial song goes "pump-pump-pump-pumps your blood" and then describes how air goes from the lungs to the heart and back again. It sounds like the kind of goofy yet educational song They Might Be Giants would come up with, but it doesn't particularly sound like them.
Anyone heard it?

Yep. Very catchy but It's almost CERTAINLY made for the ad. It's WAY to specific.

Well well well. I stand corrected. Seems it's a song from a "Happy Days" episode.
   It's apparently Anson Williams singing.

Lyrics...
FONZIE
Okay, like we rehearsed it...
Cunningham, harmonica. Malph, bones,
Lori Beth, kazoo. Jennifer, beaker.
The name of this tune is "Pump Your
Blood". Hit It. One, two, one, two, three ...

POTSIE GOES TO HEART ON DESK AND POINTS WITH HIS FINGER, SINGS.

POTSIE
"Pump, pump, pumps your blood.
The right atrium's where the process
begins,
Where the C02 blood enters the heart
Through the tricuspid valve to the right
ventricle
The pulmonary artery and lungs.
Once inside the lungs it dumps its carbon
dioxide
And picks up its oxygen supply
Then it's back to the heart through the
pulmonary vein
Through the atrium and left ventricle."

ALL JOIN ON CHORUS.

ALL

(SING) "Pump, pump, pumps your blood.

POTSIE
(SING) "The aortic valvels where the
blood leaves the heart
Then it's channeled to the rest of the bod
The arteries, arterioles, and capillaries
too
Bring the oxygenated blood to the cells
The tissues and the cells trade off waste and CO 2
Which is carried through the venules and
the veins
Through the larger vena cava to the
atrium and lungs And we're back to where we started in the heart.

ALL JOIN ON CHORUS.

ALL

(SING) "Pump, pump., pump, pumps your blood"

POTSIE
(TO PROFESSOR) Well?
PROFESSOR

What's this? The Zigfield Follies ... ? Weber, I apologize. I'm giving you an "A".

FONZIE PUTS HIS ARM AROUND THE PROFESSOR.
PROFESSOR
(CONT’D)
An 'A" plus.
POTSIE
One more time!

Some of the dialogue is wrong, but the lyrics seem right. Whatever.

I've heard it several times, but never could find the words to the song - anyone know where I can find the words? or the actual name of the song?

Hi! This is my first post. The St. Joseph's commercials are driving me mad!! Does anyone know who performs the 'pump you blood' song? my mom and I think that it is 'Potsie' Anson Williams from Happy Days. He did sing on the show, and it sure sounds like him. (I would know; he was my first crush!) if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!!

Hi
I am looking to find the video and music to the St Joseph's baby aspirin commercial. Does anyone know of anyway to get it????? or find it?????
Thanks
Fred

You can download the original song from Happy Days Online.

Go to 'Theme songs/MP3s/Wavs'.

It's listed as Potsie's 'Pump Your Blood' Song.

Also see this thread.

The only place where I can find the commercial itself is at AdLand (Subscription fee applies).

 Does anyone here know the words, for the St. Josephs baby Aspirin, the singing commercial about the blood going thru the cardiovascular system, wanna teach my kids the words for health class. Thanks, coachatschool

My kids love it.....

The right atrium's where the process begins
Where the CO2 blood enters the heart
And the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle
The pulmonary artery and lungs
Once inside the lungs
It dumps it's carbon dioxide
And picks up it's oxygen supply
Then it's back to the heart
And the pulmaonay veins
And the atrium and left ventricle

Unfortunaltly I didn't go to search I went to Archives and didn't find my answer. Anyway, my children will be happy to learn a song in Health Class! THANKYOU!!! ;)
