Hey guys.!
There's a new show called Smith that's coming out in the fall on CBS.
I saw a snippet of the preview on tv, it had Virginia Madsen in it. Anyway, the background was this sorta rockish song, a male singer.
I went searching and found a link with the full 'trailer". The song at the end sounds like the one I'm talking about.

To me, the male singer sounds like Chris Cornell ...

Perhaps a song by Soundgarden or Audioslave or something from his solo work?

The song I'm looking for comes at the very end of the commercial. I can't catch enough of it to give specific details, but it has a trip-hop'ish feel. It made me think of Massive Attack, but I'm pretty sure it isn't them.

Let's see if we can't figure this one out.

Smith has multiple previews...I've been wanting to know the song from the one that DJEiffelT heard. The male voice IS Chris Cornell; song is "Show Me How To Live" by Audioslave. Sorry I don't know the other one.

New info for the unknown song from a "Smith" commercial:

I made out the following lyrics for sure:

"way through the dark"

And could have possibly been:

"finding a way through the dark"

I still maintain that the song had a trip-hop feel, groovin' dark bass and drums with a distorted whisper-singing voice, likely male.

I saw the commercial on CBS, about 9:15pm. It is a brand new show and hasn't aired yet, at least I don't think.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Actually, I think the song you are looking for is Audioslave - Show Me How To Live from Their self-titled album. Unless, they changed the music for the show commercials, but I believe this is it.

No, it's not audioslave, I know what he's talking about and it sounds nothing like that audioslave song. It's really quite trip-hoppy and hazy in a way.
