I was sure I recognized the little snippet of "Qui la voce." Thanks for the confimation, Molly. Do you happen to know whose recording was used in the commercial? I don't recognize the soprano, and I can't find any other source of information.

No sorry, I don't know which soprano is singing it...my guess would be a fairly modern one...it doesn't sound like Joan Sutherland or others of the past...

I agree it sounds like a newer recording; a fairly mature voice, I think. I begin to wonder now if it might be Angela Gheorghiu. That's a long shot, I think. Doesn't sound like anyone I know, really. (Off to check out a track list for Gheorghiu's latest CD. Er. Not that I'm obsessive, or anything. ::whistles nonchalantly:: )
