Oldies song, "I love you"

This is an oldies song and i even heard a remake of it today by someone like Michael Mcdonald or similar.

Anyway the song has the classic motown oldies attributes, background jazziness. The song is pretty upbeat, it sound a lot like something the four tops would make. Here is a small excerpt of the main chorus lyrics. The singer builds up with fast lyrics until:

"I love youuuuu, but it's so haaard, baby, baby, oooh i love youuuuu"

Keep in mind its upbeat and very four-tops/temptations-esque.

And i thought it was "but it's so hard" instead of "this old heart".

Uh ... yeah. Even though you were a bit off on the lyrics, your description, and the few words that were correct , led me to believe it was the song you were looking for. I'm glad I was right or else I'd feel pretty dumb for guessing with such certainty.
