Well....I was innocently poking around the web cos SiDe informs me that I've been had by this Aussie/English site (LINK) when I backed into THIS. WTF? :lol: :lol: :lol:

Personally I think the Australian's the second crappest newspaper we have, but I have a couple of friends who attack me viciously every time I say that...but that's just us...(but come on, read that article and ask yourself if it belongs in a serious news publication....)

also I checked out that aussie slang site and a lot of it i've just never heard (like croweater and crumblies which you mentioned before fitz) a lot of it hasn't been used in about fifty years (we're talking real "ocker" slang here which you don't hear in the cities) but there's a lot of stuff that I do know and sometimes use (like "cool bananas") albeit very infrequently...

hell there's a lot of stuff there that i didn't even know was Australian slang...i thought it was used around the world...

so...is everything cool bananas now?

Awwwww maaaaaan. I think you misinterpreted my intention SiDe. I was just posting something I found bizarre and was giving a reference as to how I happened to run across such a thing. :lol: :lol: :lol: It was in no way meant as an attack of anything Aussie. I post bizarre stuff all of the time and it's usually something that some Yank has done or said although my personal favorite is still the (Swedish?) law that allows men to look up womens skirts if they want to.

Anyway.....things always were "cool bananas."

I'm an Indian by birth after all, and even though I am an Australian citizen, feel free to pay us out..heck Australians pay out you "sepos" all the time...in good humour of course...

And for those of you who are curious a "sepo" is an American...it comes from "septic tank" although i can't remember why Americans are called "sepos"....

anybody have a clue?

P.S I used to live in Chicago as a kid, so i'm a quasi-ex-sepo myself so I've never really called American's sepos...so nobody bombard me with hate-posts about how anti-US I apparently am....
