FUCK YES!!

Oh man I seriously hope he runs. Even if I don't vote for him I'd still be ok with him winning.

I would not. I'll take either Colbert/Obama or Stewart/Colbert. Accept no substitutions.

Wait, what?

What about McCain?
McCain is a Republican. He was a moderate until after the 2004 election. After that he lost me. Completely.

Naw he's still moderate, I'll bet he's just givin lip service so he'll get the nomination.

But that's what I was sayin, he's a Republican I wouldn't mind in the office.

That's what I thought until he spoke at Liberty U. - Jerry Falwell's piece of crap school.

In May 2006, McCain gave the commencement address at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University. During his 2000 presidential bid, McCain had called Falwell an "agent of intolerance." With significant coverage during the campaign, McCain said that he would never back down from his earlier statement. His later appearance at Liberty University prompted questions about the McCain-Falwell relationship and a possible presidential run in 2008. McCain stated that Falwell is no longer that divisive figure and the two have discussed their shared values.[15] McCain delivered a similar address at The New School commencement in Madison Square Garden. McCain was received by boos, jeers, and several students and professors turned their backs or waved fliers reading "McCain does not speak for me."[16] McCain's speech mentioned his unwavering support for the Iraq War and focused on hearing opposing viewpoints, listening to each other, and the relevance of opposition in a democracy.[17]

But do you really think that someone as level-headed as he is would just go off the deep end like that? I'm sure there's a method to his madness. I just can't see someone as intelligent as he is just taking a couple huge evolutionary steps backward.

He used to be a "maverick", voting across party lines, etc but that IS huge step back to me. I'm okay with politicians who go to church and have religion in their life but to even be associated with that man? He'd have to make some serious mea culpas. When I heard that Kerry asked him to run as VP I thought that was a great idea. Go figure. Things change.

Yeah but like, what I'm saying is that he might just be wearing his Conservative hat for political reasons. Democrats love him, that makes it bad for him in his own party strategically-speaking. If he wants to get nominated he has to play the game. If he can get on the conservatives' good side then he has their votes AND the moderates AND a good chunk of the Democrats. *shrug* Maybe not, I just really respect and admire the guy so maybe I'm being naive.

Nuh-uh. Not naive. I can see why he would do that it just seems two-faced. In the end if you don't really have a particular groups interests in mind then you will alienate them. See "Bush and Evangelical Christians".... If he ran it would make for a VERY interesting election.

Yeah but you just don't get ahead in politics by being the nice guy. No one got there by being 100% honest. Maybe Barack, I don't know, but in general they're just like teenage girls with potbellies and pork. You just gotta expect a certain amount of horseshit from all politicians and then you're never disappointed. :)

Besides, to be completely honest (and to sound like a bitch) I'd rather the people he's bullshitting be them and not us.

I think I just threw up a little. Man, Becka where did you find that?

I think it was on CollegeHumor.com or something.....they usually post crazy/funny news articles.

Can you imagine drinking down a bottle of Turkey and Gravy soda???
