ya'll probably don't remember this one... but in may 05, my mom's best friend was attacked in her home and nearly died (dude slashed her throat and stabbed her in her stomach and in her back, burnt down her house, killed two of her dogs). well, a year and a half later - the attacker was FINALLY sentenced yesterday: life with no chance of consideration for parole for 20 years.

I remember it too, and I'm glad he got such a harsh sentence though it'd be nice if there was no possibility for parole at ALL, considering what a goddamn monster he is. But maybe this closure can be a step toward recovery for her.

she's doing amazingly well... i think she has one more surgery left, and she should be done. she came to visit this summer and it's kind of bizarre to see the scar across her neck. but she's in good spirits - the biggest change is that she's ultra paranoid now, obviously.

I might sound like a tacky ad considering the situation, but mention Mederma to her. It's helping with my scars a lot, certainly more so than using nothing at all.
