Looking for a song from the late 90's??

Hi gang, i am pretty new to these forums but everyone here seems very helpful and I was hoping maybe someone could help me.

I am trying to find a song from the late 90's. It is a girl singing, kind of pop alternative......and some of the lyrics right before the chorus sounded like:

"won't you take me for a walk, don't you wanna show me off"

I am sorry it is pretty vague but i can't remember anything more now. If someone could help me I would love it!
