help with a 60's song..

I heard this song on the radio yesterday when they were playing a bunch of hits from the 60's, so i think this must have been a pretty popular song. The only parts I remember were an interlude/bridge type thing where it sounded like kids singing "la la la" for a little while, and then a woman's voice started singing, and the lyrics were something like, "this is the (something) my friend, we thought it would never end". I tried searching google with those lyrics but couldn't find anything so they're probably not exact. Oh and they said the song was produced by Paul Mccartney, if that helps at all.
