Could any one tell me the name of the classical music piece that phil listens to on the radio while deceiding to pay a thousand dollars for a piano lesson? i looked at the soundtrack listing on amazon but dont think it is there.

thanks.

 Maybe it's:
EIGHTEENTH VARIATION FROM RAPSODY ON A THEME OF PAGANINI
Written by Sergei Rachmaninoff

You can find it on the Soundtrack here.

No, the song is not 18th Variation From Rapsodie On A Theme Of Paganini. i wanted to know the song that is playing right before he takes his first piano lesson.

thanks.

You didn't hear it in the audio samples for the Soundtrack? You can look here for the IMDb.com listing... Maybe it's listed there. I haven't seen the movie in ages, so I'm just throwing ideas out there...

There is a scene where Bill Murray is in a coffee shop reading- when he is inspired to play the piano. Does anyone know the classical song that is playing? Thanks in advance for any help! :D

The song you are referring to is Mozart's Piano Sonata In C Major, K. 545 the first movement (Allegro).

Here is a link with a streaming sample (track #4) from Amazon.

It seems only fitting that Beethoven answers the classical piano music. :)

Indeed ;) ...I had to dust off my groundhog day DVD to listen to the song.
