Explorers

My friend was looking for any information on the fanfare in the trailer for Eliminators (1986) which is also heard in the more-recognizable trailer for the movie Explorers (1985) so I posted it under there. It's been driving us crazy because it sounds like one of those pieces of music that got used for a lot of things. Any help or information (composer, music library, etc) would be appreciated.

Like you, I've heard the cue before. It sounds similar to something from Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories" TV soundtrack -- have you checked out some of tracks for that series? There are quite a few of them.

That was suggested in our original discussion, but I haven't heard anything in the couple bits of Amazing Stories music I could find. Plus it seems like the AS soundtrack was done by a ton of different composers so unless I can figure out who to look for, it's pretty hard to narrow down. (Danny Elfman was one of the composers of AS that I heard and it definitely wasn't him. Heh.)
