Amistad Lion King

Does anyone know where I can find African music similar to that from movies Amistad and The Lion King? I realize "African Music" is a very broad term, encompassing many different styles, so I am looking for some guidance with regards to the music in those movies. Any suggestions?

I'll offer a couple of suggestions ...

Music from the movie "Sarafina!" (if you like uplifting (South) African music) ...

Any of the CD compilations called "Africa Fete" (good variety of contemporary African artists) ...

Any "Putamayo Presents ..." CD compilations specifically related to African music ...

Random artists ... Angelique Kidjo, Youssou N'Dour, Baaba Maal, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Johnny Clegg ...

Here's another thing you could do ...
Physically go into a Borders or a Barnes & Noble store ...
Go to the International Music section ...
Look for the section specifically devoted to Africa/African Music ...
Just randomly grab any CD that catches your eye ...
Scan it right there in the store at one of those listening stations ...
Listen and check it out ...
If the CD is a compilation of several artists, and you like certain songs you just sampled, then go and check out CDs by the specific artists then ...
