What do you mean by theme exactly?
I can give you these songs and their artists if you'd like:
Danger Zone--Kenny Loggins
Take My Breath Away--Berlin
Playin' With the Boys--Kenny Loggins (again)
Those are really the main three songs that they use in the film besides the instrumentals.

On the soundtrack it was track number ten composed by Harold Faltermeyer and Steve Stevens. It starts out with the long guitar solo. I can't remember when it is playing in the movie but I like the guitar solo at the beginning.

If you buy the extended special edition original music score it’s on there just like in the movie without the guitar
