Is it a real song on the I Love NY commercial? It shows a bunch of different tourist activities like hiking and sailing. The song is instrumental until the end where voices start singing "I love NY" really slow and soft. The music is really pretty. I was wondering if it's a real song and if it's available to download/listen to anywhere. Thanks.

What's a 'real' song? I did a bit of searching for this thread:

but I didn't find any available recordings that weren't straight out of a disco or bad totally unrelated midis - and if that's the melody you want (the disco bits) the original is only a very short jingle. There is a link to the office of tourism - I'd bug them for an official release :shifty:

This thread asks about a different NY ad but has no replies :(

Hi. I read the other thread and listened to the links you posted. The first discoey one sounded like it was possibly the same tune, but everything else was completely off. The music I'm talking about is very pretty sounding. I think it might be violins playing the music, but I can't be sure unless I hear it again and pay attention. Thank you for help though. Maybe I'll take your advice and ask at ILoveNY.com.

Yeah, I've since been able to listen to the entire disco version and they really just stole the "I love New York" line and built a disco song around it - similar to how the more recent dance track "Call on Me" by Eric Prydz that was built around a single line from the old Steve Winwood tune "Valerie" (Call on Me thread) I think getting all your friends and neighbors to flood the Office of Tourism with requests for a proper release could be effective :woo:
