Hey everyone,
I heard a song on the radio today, and the only part I caught was

"Doo doo doo doo doo! Doo doo dodododo!"

I know--that's very unhelpful. It's a popular song, I think it's from the 70's. It was sung by a male, and sounded very similar to Taxiride and The Beach Boys.

Any ideas? thanks

Hmm, neither of those were it. I feel like its a relatively popular song.

ps the number of 'doos' i listed are the exact number of 'doos' in one cycle of the chorus. and yes, it's a lot of doos. :D

it's an upbeat song...

thanks

Perhaps the beginning of "Mrs. Robinson" by Simon & Garfunkel? Though I believe that song begins with several long Ds, it's a close fit.

no no, this is the chorus for its own song.

I'll take a wild guess ...

Perhaps ...

CSN(Y) - "Love The One You're With"

???

That's what popped into my mind with all of your "doo"'s ...
I dunno ...
Right or wrong ...
Enjoy!
There you go.

Hmm, that's not it. Any other guesses?

"Heartbreaker" - The Rolling Stones?

Don't sound like the bands you mentioned but I'm running out of ideas.

How about the old stand " DA DA DA" by TRIO.....

or

"DE DO DO DO, DE DA DA DA " by the POLICE....

- boy this could be fun....

One of these? Both are full of doo doo. :)

1. Lou Reed - Walk on the Wild Side

2. KC and the Sunshine Band - That's The Way, I Like It

Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
When you take me by the hand,
tell me I'm your lovin man
When you give me all your love and do it
Babe, the very best you can
Oh, That's the way I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
When I get to be in your arms,
when we're all all alone
When you whisper sweet in my ear,
when you turn, turn me on.
Oh, that's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
Say O.K. That's the way, that's the way
Say O.K. That's the way, that's the way
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
That's the way I like it
That's the way I like it
That's the way I like it
Say O.K. That's the way, that's the way
Say O.K. That's the way, that's the way

None of those are it. The chorus sounds like the beach boys.

i've been searching all morning!! ahh!!

Beach Boys huh?

You sure it WASN'T The Beach Boys? :p Positive?

Well I never cared much for The Beach Boys but Hall & Oates does manage to sound like them and they're from the 70s mostly I think.

Anyone know HALL & OATES well enough to name some of their doo doo songs? :p

No, it's not Yes. :p

The chorus in the song I'm thinking of is primarily the "doo's", as opposed to being background vocals.

Any other guesses...?

I know one already said "Love the one your with"...but did you try it as Stephen Stills...?

"Rubberband Man" by The Spinners?

(Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo)
Guaranteed to blow your mind
(Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo)
Playin’ all that music, yet keepin’ time
(Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo)
Where in the world did he learn that, oh, Lord
(Doo doo doo doo doo)
Lord, help him get away
