Help me find this song!

It used to play at a Starbucks I frequented about 3 years back. Female vocals. The only words I can decipher or remember in the chorus: "Stay the same."

Her voice is plaintive. Only one I can liken it to is the lead singer of Six Pence None the Richer. But the artist in question has a more earnest quality in her voice. The song, I guess could fall under indie pop. Think Jewel's debut or Heather Nova.

I'm gonna guess Beth Gibbons from Portishead. She did a one-off album with Paul Webb aka Rustin Man (from Talk Talk) but I'm not really finding anything.

This is a bit of a stretch, but could it be "Never the Same" by Supreme Beings of Leisure? (iTunes)

That's not it, but both are going on my wishlist. We're getting there in voice quality. Think Lilith Fair-ish.
