I'm pretty sure that the instrumental song is by Edward Shearmur. A lot of his scores in the movie haven't been realeased though.

I know exactly what you are looking for, because I've been looking for it over the past eight years. The music was created by Edward Shearmur. He actually did the score. Unfortunately it seems that one was never released by him in stores for Cruel Intentions. The unused score is in stores for some odd reasons...and it has none of the songs from the movie. That unused score is by John Ottman. I wish I could help you further, but I am on the quest to find it also. If you have found a place to purchase it, please contact me at HackerX5(at)aol.com.
