Christmas song about a bird

Maybe someone can help. My mother is pestering me about some christmas song she heard on the radio, but didn't catch the title. It is supposedly about a bird, perhaps a nightengale, who was watching over the manger scene. Sung by a woman. I can't figure it out. Any help would be welcome.
