    Honda "Happy Honda Days" holiday

I'm laughing my ass off that Honda would chose such a horrible piece of writing and singing. Just because Vampire Weekend is popular does not change the fact that they suck really bad - What 22 year old Ad person sold this to the decision makers at Honda? What a conglomerate of idiots.

    Viagra "Viva Viagra"

It bothers me big time. I just sucks so bad. So stupid. I think most corporate creative departments have lost their minds. It's lazy advertising...it was a shit song to begin with and it has gotten worse with age. Grown men singing about their erectile dysfunction. Why dont they just shoot all...

    Using "songs" is lazy advertising

Points well taken. I did not see that side of it. Now that I think about it, I have discovered some artists I never would have. Or known that Dusty Springfield was so talented.

AT&T - "All Around the World" by Oasis. I mean the song sucked when it was first recorded....this is torture. How many more months will this trifle run? The Creative Director approved it should be taken out and shot.

    Best commercial ad song?

One more positive one... Macy's did a great job re-making "From Me to You" last year.

    Best commercial ad song?

And before I get criticized for always being negative I offer one good song that fit with an ad. Mistusbshi used T-Rex "20th Century Boy" a few years ago. It was well mixed and cut. And yes, it has been about that long since anything really got my attention as being notable.

    Best commercial ad song?

Everyone has their own opinion that's for sure. Miles and Miles by Dee (Ford Edge) That is for sure. Miles and Miles is badly produced, uses a really ancient and grating synth sound (the kind you would find in a kids keyboard at Walmart) and the vocalist sounds like he has been sitting on the...

    Using "songs" is lazy advertising

You're not going to like this, but the Outback "jingle" is an adaptation of the Of Montreal song Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games. AAAARRRRRRGHHHHH! About food on the table...most of the artists used are mega-millionaires. It is the starving jingle writers that I feel sorry for. They...

As I mentioned the Outback ad, which is current, how does that put me off topic?

    Using "songs" is lazy advertising

I am waiting (probably hopelessly) that Ad Agencies will stop using songs by hit artists as music for their ads. Some are just disgusting (Led Zepplin for Cadillac). What happened to the era of original music and jingles? Why are agencies so lazy? Do they think by playing a song "aimed at my...
