You're right. Nothing's the vicious pitbull next door.

fear is all in your head. once you let go and have "no fear" it is awasome. i learned that in the military.

fear is something that our mind can block out by "conquerring every fear you have". whether it is being shot, stabbed, stranggled or beaten to death. the military taught me something that i am not supposed talk about or teach anyone. i really wish that i could tell you how they taught me, but i can not. however, just think of your worse fear and face it. believe me being fearless is something that not just anybody can overcome. it takes discipline , pain, and courage. remember fear is what you make out of it. i have been shot at (no shot), but close enough, i have had someone try to choke me, and i have had a knife pulled on me and placed at my throat. to look fear i the eyes and you oposition see's that you have no fear of dying, well let me just say that it scares the shit out of them and that is when you make your move. it is killed or be killled.

I think it's cool. My life is filled with this kind of shit so no biggie.

special weapons/forces in the army..

Actually adrenaline can kill you. Fear is what keeps you aware of your surroundings, and fear is what motivates people to evolve. I'm not saying it's healthy to live your life looking over your shoulder. I'm saying there's a difference between facing your fear and pretending it doesn't exist.

Besides, it's usually the most "fearless" among us that receive the posthumous Darwin Award.

good pont, but fear can also cause you to make mistakes. that sometime can be and are liife threatening. fear can also cloud your thinking, but i do agree that it does keep you on your toes. however i was taught a different approach to fear and also staying on my toes with a clear mind.

You were also trained to be a soldier though. Soldier training is for soldier living, take orders and do what you're told and not question authority. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you're in the army. It just doesn't translate well into civilian life and that's why you see so many soldiers go apeshit when they come home from war without a proper decompression period. They beat their wives up or shake their babies or shoot their neighbors or whatever, because they're still in Fearless Soldier Mode. You're a good dad, because you fear for your kids and use that fear contructively to keep them safe and be kind to them.

very good point again. and thank you for the compliment. i do love my kids very much and i do fear for their lives. that is why once i got married and had children i never ever once spoke of what i used to do in the military. as far as those idiots that beat up their wives and abuse their kids. well i would just like 5 minutes alone with them. so all in all i do have a fear for something and that is the well being of my boys. since i really am not out of soldier mode though i still have that fearless mentallity, which actually could get me in trouble if i have to teach someone a lesson if they abuse my two boys.
