I'm looking for a fantastic song with a very 60s feel (may even be from the 60s) with a female vocalist half-talking/half-singing about waking up in the morning.
She talks about how she can't find her toothbrush with some lyrics something like "the blue one is brother's/ the red one is father's/ the yellow one is mother's" and then somewhere near the end she's asking "which skirt should i wear/ the red one?/ the blue one?/ the red one?/ the blue one..." on and on until the song fades out. There are other lyrics, something about putting on a record to annoy the neighbors, I think.
This song was playing in Beacon's Closet in Williamsburg, Brooklyn so I'm expecting something kind of indie or vintage. Very hipster-ish.
It sort of sounds like Ultra Orange and Emmanuelle, if you know them. Same sort of garage-rock 60s feel.
Any help much appreciated - it's a very cool song!
