Song ID. Really familiar tune.

I'm helping a friend ID a song right now. It's one of those songs that always comes up on alternative rock stations, and you always recognize it, but you don't know what it is...
So it's driving us both a little mad.

The only lyrics I can pull up in my mind is, "I can see the road *something something* that I'm *something* on...."
For the chorus.

The sound reminds me of Collective Soul. I don't know if it actually is or not.
It's most likely one of those songs that always comes up on those '90s Mix Hits CD's you see on infomercials. It has a very '90s sound to it.
