I love this song too...and am trying to find out who the artist/group is. I have heard them in another ad too I think.. let me know please!!

Thanks rfred729, for posting the longer video. I am determined to find out the name and artist of that song. Its definitely worthy of radio play. It could be a wonderful anthem. Keep me posted if anyone finds out, and I will do the same.

I think it sounds similar to the group, Chatham County Line, especially their excellent song titled, "Crop Comes In" from their CD, Wildwood. I checked their web site and didn't see any mention of them singing the song from the CenturyLink ad.

hey, everybody. The band sounds like The Shins from New Mexico. But I cant be sure.

For some reason i think it sounds like Alex Albrecht, he is on a few PODCASTS , like Diggnation and Totally Rad Show. He sings the intro to Totally Rad Show and i really think this Century Link ad song sounds like him.

No one sent the lyrics to me. I just heard the song so many times that I wrote them down. I did make one error which was corrected here: "Interruptions" is correct. But after listening to the lyrics, I am about 100% certain that the song was written and performed exclusively for the ad. Great song though.

Someone on YouTube user name "nicdefran" posted that the person who sings the song is his cousin named Danny Dunlap and the song name is "Give Me Freedom".
I don't know if it's true, but I'm also looking for a full length version of this song. It sounds great and I love the guitar rift.

It's a Joey Ramone sound-alike.

After an artist dies, they usually plug music by them until a reputable agency/owner of copyrights settles. It's a freebie in advertising and radio airplay.

As a fan of the musical group, The Shore, I'm 95% certain it's The Shore (or its leader Ben Ashley) who wrote and perform this song.

I just saw/heard this commercial this past week, and wanted to find out about the song as well.

(Not 100% sure if the version I saw had the exact same song/lyrics. I had written down some potential lyrics that sounded something like "lean up and go now," but after reading the lyrics above, it might have been "LINK up and go now....")

To me, it sounded a lot like Echo & the Bunnymen.

I agree--most definitely NOT Jackson Browne.

Having listened to the lyrics carefully, I would be willing to bet that the song was written and recorded for the commercial and is not a song that was released to general audiences.
The lyrics refer to being connected and linked via the internet. Enough said.
