    I don't think that's it. That sounds too... exotic. It's very retro and has been used in a LOT of ads. Cheesy ones, like dishwashing detergent and car insurance and now a gas station. It's driving me nuts.

    Payless

    Success! I just saw the commercial again on TV, and it was for FAMOUS FOOTWEAR, not Payless Shoes. Needless to say, with a bit more sleuthing, the song is "(Feel so Good) Feel So Fine" by Shirley & Lee. No wonder the customer service people at Payless seemed confused by my inquiry....

    I've seen a few commercials from Payless Shoes. I don't think there's any dialogue, just a sort of pantomime of action and of course a lot of feet. They all have really great music. The one I saw tonight is bugging me, though. It was an older doo-wop sounding song, a female singer or singers...
