Can anyone reccomend some very traditional French-sounding music? With the accordians, that you hear in movies all the time.

I was in Central Park about a week and a half ago, and there were two guys, with the accordian and a guitar, who played a tango, I believe. It sparked my interest, and sent me on the hunt for this style of music.

Thank you in advance!!

mmm i know a french song its called Ca Plane Pour Moi by Plastic Bertrand i don't think its traditional but it might be

 No, that's not what I meant. I've heard that song before, however. Catchy tune.

I mean the kind that's slow, like a tango or something, usually with an accordian. Most likely jazz. I wish I could find a sample or something. Used in old romantic comedies that take place in Paris, usually.

The style of music called "musette" is a bouncy, jazzy accordion French music.

Other artists to try:

-Edith Piaf
-Toots Thielman
-Francis Cabrel
-George Brassens
-Pink Martini
-The soundtrack to Amelie
-or just straight up tango

Try checking out Amazon for their recommendations based on these artists.

You're fabulous.

Thank you for the reccomendations.

Toots Thielman was just the thing I was looking for.
Kudos on that one.
