Hi all,

During the Olympics tonight there was a corporate ID type of spot for GM, emphasizing that they used to be cool and they still are cool.

The song had lyrics like "we never heard of the internet when we were kids" - unfortunately it's out of TIVO range right now, or else I would have recorded it...

The images were of old GM cars, new GM cars, and the titles read like "Then: Sock hops. Now: Hip Hop."

Awesome rap song - what is it?

thanks!!

I heard this too. I know it's a cover of an older song 60's/70's. I can't remember the song though. The rap over it is new, don't know who that was..

Yes! I forgot that part, it was sampled and of course now, I can't rember the sample...grrrrr! There was an image of Bill Haley in the ad, but it's not Rock around the Clock, for sure...

Yeah I figured it out. They are sampling "Mr. Big Stuff". The version I'm listening to is by Marva Wright but I don't think she did the original.
