    Blown Away

OK, for anyone interested, I figured it out...exactly as I had suspected, it is in fact a pitch adjustment that makes the song sound different, not increased playing speed (and it's also not a re-recorded version). I used a program called BestPractice on an MP3 of "With Or Without You" and all...

    Blown Away

I did compare times and it doesn't sound to me like the version in the film has been sped up at all. Sounds more to me like the pitch was adjusted or something. I'd really like to know how they did it exactly, or why.

    Blown Away

In the case I posted above, that is obviously not a re-recorded version of the song done specially for the movie. It sounds identical to the album version (which, BTW, appears on the movie's soundtrack) in every way except that the tone seems different. It's gotta be some kind of an audio...

    Blown Away

I was watching "Blown Away" not too long ago and I noticed that the U2 songs in the movie sound a bit different from the way they sound on the album. Notice how "With Or Without You" sounds in the film compared to "The Joshua Tree". I've noticed this is very common in movies...the song sounds...

    Quake 2

While I can't post the link here, there's a very well-known site online that collects and posts video game soundtracks for download (in MP3 format), and they have Quake II's soundtrack in their database, ripped straight from the game. If the music from this TV spot was in the game, then they...

    Celtic Music

Clannad does really great celtic music, though they can be a bit on the serious side. For Irish punk, nothing beats Dropkick Murphys, especially their covers of old Republican songs like the "Worker's Song" and "Auld Triangle".

    Belly the movie

The song is called "Swell Up", and it was apparently supposed to be on the soundtrack but it got cut. I don't know where to get it, either, but somebody left a message on Wildstyle's Myspace profile asking for it. Maybe he'll post it or something, who knows...

    Collateral

That version you linked to is the original version from "Bunkka" with English vocals by Asher D. The version heard in the movie is the "Korean Style" remix, with Korean vocals by some other dude; that remix can be found on the "Collateral" soundtrack.

    everyone probably knows except me

Yep, that's it, you got it. Oddly enough, I've been hearing this song a lot in various places, but it doesn't seem to be as famous as I thought. Can anyone give me any background on it?

    everyone probably knows except me

OK, never mind, I found it. And now that I know what it is, you'll probably REALLY laugh at me for not knowing, so I won't say. I'll say this: The refrain is not "follow me".

    everyone probably knows except me

OK, I've had this song stuck in my head that is probably VERY famous, since I hear it so regularly, but the lyrics are hard to discern and I don't know what it's called. It's obviously from the 80s' (or at least, that's what it sounds like to me), it has a VERY fast club/dance-style beat, the...

    Watchdog

Yeah, I like that song a lot myself (Pharoahe Monch is one of my favorite MCs'). When I saw the lyrics you posted, I knew immediately that "Fuck You" was the song you were talking about, and I was going to post and tell you the answer, but it's well and done that you found it yourself. Too...

    Familiar melody

And it seems that Das EFX used the same sample of "Strawberry Letter 23" I was looking for on their song "Whut Goes Around".

Excellent, that's it! Thank you very much!

    Anyone?

    Familiar melody

No, it's not "Sadness". Also, this rapper didn't "rip off the song" - he sampled it. Not the same thing - all hip-hop is based upon sampling.

Please go here: http://www.streetlevelrecords.com/home.htm Click on the song "The Sun Doesn't Shine" (Track 6) on this album and listen to it. During the chorus when the hook "In Seattle, the sun doesn't shine" is sung, you hear a simple 8-note keyboard melody being played with tinkling keys...

    Be Cool

Nope, that's the song that the DubMDs' play in their black Hummers. He's talking about "Act A Ass" by E-40.

Have you checked the IMDB listing then?

    Last Action Hero

I believe you're talking about "Cock The Hammer" by Cypress Hill. It's on the soundtrack CD.
