Trident Xtra Care Gum

I have seen some sort of toothpaste or gum commercial, I can't remember the brand for the life of me. But during the ad a man is clotheslined by a woman with many bags, but he falls and doesn't lose any teeth because the product has made his teeth stronger. He is later nearly run over by an old woman on a scooter. My query is: During the opening sequence there is a college-looking guy playing an acoustic guitar and singing a song, the only lyrics I can discern are "burning pumkins on the porch...". It has a nice ring to it and I'd like to know if there is an actual song or artist that is associated with that song. Any ideas?

I just saw this commercial, it's for Trident gum but I didn't catch the song.
