it just seems like songs that have piano in them have a little extra something
just one example "wet and rusting" by menomena has a very nice piano solo in it

does any one know any other indie, rock, or alternative songs that have piano in them?
thanks

I absolutely adore The Hush Sound's "Wine Red"

Not so much a solo, but a great use of piano. Plus...well, it's just a good song.

Their other song "Sweet Tangerine" has distinct piano in the background that's used almost jazz-like. Another great song by them. They're just good.

Though instrumental (drum&bass) The Flashbulb's "Passage D" has very unique piano in it as well...

yeah i know i like the hush sound. i had never heard that song passage D though. It was kind of a little step away from what i normally listen too, but i thought it was interesting and enjoyed listening to it

Definatley try out some Jack's Mannequin.

Not too much of a piano solo in their music, but they are an amazing band.

Recommended songs: Mixed Tape, Bruised, Dark Blue, Into the Airwaves

Imogen Heap is amazing too. Still, not a piano solo.

Recommended songs: Come Here Boy, Speeding Cars

Ben Kweller has a few piano solos.

Recommended songs: Sundress, In Other Words

Copeland's song "Love Affair" has an amazing solo.

Hope I could help!

I'd have to say Keane is a good choice since they only have drums and a piano with someone singing.

Ohhh Keane's "Under the Iron Sea" is marvelous. Especially their song "Nothing in My Way"

Oh! And we musn't forget about Elton John! If you've ever wanted to find some good piano, he's the man to look for. The entire album of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is a must.

Creeper Lagoon has some awesome music featuring piano.
