Indian Music

I discovered a booth at the state fair this year with lots of Indian stuff...jewelry, purses, that kinda thing and they had a man in the back playing some kind of flute looking instrument. Beautiful music....wish now that I had bought a cd....Does anybody know some bands that play this kind of music or even what it is called so I can find it in the store? Thanks!
