So, we had a pep rally today. <_<

Our JV dance team came up and performed to a particular song which really grabbed my attention. I tried as hard as I could to hear the lyrics, but everybody was cheering, and the sound was echoing throughout the entire gym. So any particular lyrics were lost.

This reminded me a little of The Black Eyed Peas, but not as strong. There was a slight alternative twist on it, and the beat was very distinct (Think: dance team).
I DO know that there was a break in the music that was just beats, and it would say something like "Shake shake sh-sh-shake shake" Something along those lines.

I'm sorry it's so rough; that's all I could get.

post any and all ideas you may have, I'll check them all out.

Thank you!!!!

 You might have to suck it up and go ask one of the dancers.

I do not miss high school pep rallies.

I refuse.

I like you all much better here.

The dancers can die for all I care.

Cheerleaders, too.

2009 seems much too far away...

And we like you too, especially after that comment!

Were they mean to you?

to get the topic back on track the song is "Shake" by Ying Yang Twins Featuring Pitbull

and don't forget "save the cheerleader, save the world".

You don't mean all dancers, do you? I'd like to not die....
Oh DEFINATELY not. I just meant at my school; they are all extremely conceited. And I would love to punch them in the face. The cheerleaders as well; they're all blonde bimbos who have "Barbie" pasted on the backs of their cars. It's so stereotypical high school...

I absolutely adore dancers (Especially Gene Kelly )

And I know it isn't "Shake"; I am all too familiar with that song. Many, many memories. :shifty:

A very good song, though.

I know when I hear it, I'll recognize it. When I heard it, it reminded me of "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas, but I know it wasn't it that.

Hmm....I dunno. ;)

Ok, I did some searching from the album you said.

And if it's the song "Shake it!" by Kasino,

that's not it.

But thank you for trying, these are all good tries.

But it definately has a hip-hop beat to it. I've been searching the top 100's on iTunes and things like that to see if I can find it, but to no success.

Who knows, maybe it shall remain a mystery. :p

The title of the song probably doesn't have the word "shake" in it. The part of the song that I remember wasn't key to the song, it was just a break in the music where they would go "shake, shake, shake".

I remembered something suddenly a few nights ago. It's male vocals, with some female vocals throughout the song (if that's any help). And if I remember correctly, I think it was the female vocals that sang the "shake" part, but I can't be exact on that. I just know that there were both male and female vocals throughout the song...

Try listening to Gym Class Hero's "The Queen and I". It has a sound sort of like that, the definate alternative with a hip-hop beat. But I know it isn't that song because there's no female vocals. But it's something that sounds like that...

Ok this is a total shot in the dark, but I listened to the song you suggested and it reminded me of Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz :D

Oh well I KNOW it's definately not that song. That song is one of my favorites, I'd definately recognize it.

"The Queen and I" is the closest I can find so far. This is a total mystery to me. I know that the song was by a well-known artist. All of our dance and step teams use popular songs, nothing from certain CD's or anything.

I just....don't know what it is.

Was it possibly that milk shake song from the Carl's Jr commercial? If so, that is Sean Paul: "Get Busy"

No, it isn't "Shake" by the Ying Yang Twins, or "Get Busy" by Sean Paul.

As I said before, there were distinctly female vocals in the song as well.

So...

No, it isn't the rapture. That isn't hip-hop enough.

I think this may be unsolvable. That Gym Class Heroes song "The Queen and I' really is quite close to what I can remember.

What about Twalib kwali, MIA, or Rahzel? theres a song that go's shake what your momma gave ya, or something off the ssx soundtrack.

Ps. most of the time school dance teams have their songs remixed specifically for that routine.
