Heard a promo that AMC kept running during the airing of Lara Croft this evening. One of the choruses sounded like "...you came on you own" Repeated a few times.

Any ideas?

AMC has used the song "An End Has a Start" by the Editors which has the lyrics you referenced. That one?

That's it! I was trying to find it, too. Love the voice - has a little bit of a Jim Morrison quality to it
Found the lyrics at LyricSpy.com:

Editors - An End Has A Start

I don't think that it's
Gonna rain again today
There's a devil at your side
But an angel on her way

Someone hit the light
'Cause there's more here to be seen
When you caught my eye
I saw everywhere I'd been
And wanna go to

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
With hope in your hands
And air to breathe

I won't disappoint you
As you fall apart
Some things should be simple
Even an end has a start

Someone hit the light
'Cause there's more here to be seen
When you caught my eye
I saw everywhere I'd been
And wanna go to

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
With hope in your hands
And air to breathe

You lose everything
By the end
Still my broken limbs
You find time to mend

More and more people
I know are getting ill
Pull something good from
The ashes now be still

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
With hope in your hands
And air to breathe

You lose everything
By the end
Still my broken limbs
You choose to mend

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
You came on your own
That's how you'll leave

You came on your own

You came on your own

Bingo! That's it. The Editors.

Thanks so much. You people are amazing!

AMC (American Movie Classics) runs this bumper for it's December movie line-up showing scenes from Troy and others. The song sounds something like Joy Division or Sisters of Mercy with a deep-voiced vocalist doing a complicated melody. Who is that?

An ad a couple of weeks ago featured "An End Has a Start" by the Editors. That one?

BINGO. That's the one. Wish they were all this easy to figure out.

Who sings the song with the chorus " You came on your own"? Sounds like the Killers or someone like that. Great song but I can't find it.

Thanks so much
